The “Travelling Book Fair”, organised by Book Culture North-East, was inaugurated on Friday at the Library and Information Centre in Kakching.
This week-long event aims to enhance the reading culture among youth by providing a diverse selection of books at reasonable and discounted rates.
The fair features an extensive collection of titles, including fiction, non-fiction, academic works, children’s literature, Manipuri literature, and publications from the North East and it is set to run until October 17.
During a media interaction, curator of Book Culture Pukhrambam Yoihen emphasised the importance of the fair in fostering a love for reading within the community.
He urged the public to participate actively in the event to ensure its success and to help create a society that values books and literacy.
