A discussion on a book titled “Veer Savarkar: The Man Who Could Have Prevented Partition”, written by Uday Mahurkar and Chirayu Pandit, was held at JN Manipur Dance Academy Auditorium Imphal on Friday.

Addressing the function as chief guest, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the said book would surely help to create awareness about the nation and its setback of India’s partition which took place after independence. The state also requires producing such a book, conducting in-depth research of history of Manipur, an initiative which will help promote sense of nationalism among youth of the state, the CM said.

He recalled India's partition stating that even as the country was celebrating its independence from the British, partition was taking place on the other hand. Such instances would not have occurred if there were visionary leaders during that period. Only after the advent of the BJP government, discussion of the impact of India’s partition has started, the CM said.
