Over 100 contemporary artworks by 36 Taiwanese artists and professors across three generations are on display at an online exhibition being held from November 1 to 30, 2020. Titled 'The 2020 Taiwan Contemporary Art Online Exhibition --Taiwan under COVID-19: For Indian Art Community,' the exhibits include oil painting, modern ink wash painting, mixed media, sculpture, digital art, new media art and installation art.

Organised by the Cultural Division in collaboration with the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India (TECC), during the Diwali festival time, the work of Taiwanese artists is being showcased with the aim to demonstrate their unreserved support and warm friendship for India. The exhibition is also co-organized by Taiwan's Chinese Writers’ and Artists’ Association, and Prestige Vision Co., Ltd.
The Education Division of TECC has been working relentlessly since many years to encourage the Indo-Taiwan educational exchanges. Through this exhibition, the Education Division hopes to connect the Indian art community, the colleges of fine arts and related organisations to Taiwan’s art community, their artists and professors to inspire innovation and encourage more cooperation between the nations in the future.
Taiwan is one of the major hubs for study in the fields of science and technology. As many as 80 per cent of Indian students studying in Taiwan in 2019 were from IT sector and engineering. With this Exhibition, the Education Division aims to encourage students from the fields of Arts, Humanities, Social science and Business consider Taiwan to pursue their further studies so that many more projects like this could be carried on in future with participation from both sides.
