A ‘One month training cum production of Goura Lila’ under the Chief Minister’s Artist sing gi Tengbang (CMAT) scheme sponsored by Art and culture department, Government Of Manipur and organised by Goura Sampraday Sat Sangah Heirok was held at Prabhu Chouba Mandap, Heirok, Thoubal district on Saturday.
Theatre director Loitongbam Brajamohon attended the event as chief guest while social worker Khundongbam Khelen as president. The ‘Goura Lila’ play was also showcased during the event.
Meanwhile, as a part of the annual programme organised in the aim of preserving the songs, culture and others by Sangeet Academy Kakching, ‘Phamthou jagoi’, a peculiar dance in Kakching haraoba, was performed at the auditorium of the academy located at Kakching on Saturday.
The event witnessed the presence of former principal Kakching Khunou College N Mohendra as chief guest, secretary, Sangeet Academy Kakching Ksh Nimai as president and principal, Sangeet academy and Visiting Guru JN Manipur dance academy, Imphal Ksh Godhadhor as guest of honour.
In his keynote address, Ksh Rajendro, treasurer sangeet academy Kakching, said that the ‘Phamthou Jagoi’ is one of the dances performed by Lai committee, amaiba amaibi in the last day of the Kakching haraoba. He further explained that the dance was shown for Preserving the Dance.
Meanwhile, second batch training cum production of ‘Thang Leiteng haiba’, a Manipuri Martial Art form, organised by Association For Paona Memorial Arts And Rural Development Services(APMARDS), Thoubal under the sponsorship of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi has been concluded on Saturday at Laishukol campus,Thoubal Achouba. Later, artists of APMARDS and students showcased “Thang Leiteng Haiba” as a part of the event.
Director, HLMTTCA Irilbung and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee K.Sanathoiba Sharma, National Secretary, Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Y Mahendrakunar and Retired Guru, JNMDA Imphal, P.Dhanajit Singh, Manipur State Kala Academy awardee, attended the event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
