Manipur University vice chancellor, professor N Lokendro on Thursday said that art and culture are the two crucial fronts of Manipuri identity.
He was speaking at the valedictory cum exhibition of the nine-day workshop cum seminar on Bronze casting that was held at the department of Fine Arts, Manipur University.
He expressed gratitude to the Fine Arts department for organising such a workshop. He exuded confidence that participants who took part in the workshop would walk away with renewed passion for the art form.
“Even though the department is fairly new, the strides it has made are simply phenomenal,” he said.
He urged the department to continue such workshops and maintained that university authority will strive to further develop the department.
Resource person of the workshop, renowned sculptor B Banamali Sharma stated the exhibition is the display of the hard work and dedication of all participants who took part in the workshop.
He further expressed gratitude to all the participants for making the workshop a grand success.
In-charge head of department of Fine Arts professor N Aruna Devi and faculty members of other departments along with students were present at the event.
Altogether nearly 30 bronze sculptures produced during the workshop were displayed during the exhibition.
