A total of 500 saplings, including fruit bearing trees, were planted at Mualkoi village, Churachandpur as a part of the two-day mass sapling plantation drive conducted by the Subsidiary Training Centre, BSF Churachandpur.
The 500 saplings planted included bottlebrush, gulmohar (delonix regia), leihao (plumeria), tairen (cedrela toona) and other fruit bearing trees.
The plantation drive held under the theme ‘My Earth My Responsibility’ concluded on Saturday.
Inspector general DK Tripathi led the officers and personnel of all ranks of STC BSF took part in the drive.
Social distancing norms were strictly followed during the drive in view of the present COVID-19 pandemic.
The saplings planted on the occasion were provided by district forest officer, Churachandpur, N Ganesh.
