Efforts on for agricultural activities in violence-hit villages

Minister Sapam Ranjan Singh visited cultivable sites in foothills and advised security personnel stationed at the area to be ready to assist and protect the farmers.

In an effort to help farmers start agricultural activities in villages located at the hoothills surrounding the Imphal valley area, Manipur Health and IPR Minister Sapam Ranjan Singh visited the foothill areas in Konthoujam Assembly Constituency and inspected cultivable sites

It may be mentioned that due to the present crisis in the state, agricultural activities have been halted in the foothills.

During his visit, the minister was accompanied by officers and personnel of Border Security Force, Assam Riffles, Gorkha Riffles and state armed forces. 

Kangmong Meisnam, Langoljam Loukon, Hegrujam Loukon, Keithelmanbi Moidangpok Loukon etc. are among those sites visited by the minister on Monday.

The minister also advised the security personnel stationed at the area to be ready to assist and protect the farmers during their agricultural activities.

Measures have also been taken up to provide irrigation to the paddy fields by constructing check dams and storing water of the small streams from the hills, he added.
