A one-day training on Post-Harvest Management on Kiwi was held at Purul Akutpa village at Senapati district, Manipur on Monday, which sawthe participation of 50 Kiwi fruit growers.
The training was organised by ICCOA (International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture) under Mission Organic value Development for North Eastern region (MOVCDNER) phase-III.
Dr David Kamei, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), KVK Senapati, as the resource person, spoke about the importance of the fruit and how it can be cultivated for a fruitful harvest. Kiwifruit is gaining importance due to its health benefits and nutritional values.
Kaimang Lalngam Gangte, Project Incharge of ICCOA said the training was organised to make the farmers aware of the importance of the fruit and how it can be produced on a larger scale.
The one-day programme was supported by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).
