Former Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) president found dead in Tamenglong

Athuan Abonmai, former president of Zeliangrong Baudi, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland (AMN), who was allegedly abducted from Tamenglong district headquarters on Wednesday morning was found dead in Pallong village under Tamei police station in Tamei sub-division.

Athuan Abonmai, former president of Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland), was found dead Wednesday evening in Pallong village, under Tamei sub-division, hours after he was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons suspected to be militants.  
Sources said Abonmai was found dead with bullet injuries in the evening near Pallong village under Tamei police station.

Unconfirmed sources said the victim’s son, Arai Abonmai filed a complaint in connection with the incident at the Lamphel police station the same day informing that his father was abducted around 11.30 am from Tamenglong district headquarter by a hill based militant group.

The incident took place in the wake of Chief Minister N Biren Singh's visit to Tamenglong as a part of the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’.
