Arrested self-styled commander-in-chief not related to group, KNF clarifies
Mangkholam Kipgen is a self-styled commander-in-chief of the other KNF, a non-SoO group which has nothing to do with the original KNF and it has no mandate of the people, Outfit information and publicity secretary Lh Stephen stated.
The Kuki National Front (KNF) on Tuesday clarified that the reported arrest of the self-styled commander-in-chief of the alleged KNF non-SoO group by Delhi Police's Special Cell has no connection with the KNF whatsoever.
Outfit information and publicity secretary Lh Stephen stated that the KNF is the oldest Kuki militant outfit and is currently under tripartite talks with the Central and state government under the banner of the United People's Front (UPF). It had signed an extension of Suspension of Operations recently with the Central and state government, he stated.
He clarified that the arrested Mangkholam alias David is not the commander-in-chief of KNF as reported in some media as KNF is functioning under its president and not under a commander-in-chief. The media report of Mangkholam Kipgen as commander-in-chief of KNF is misleading and false, he added.

“As per our findings, Mangkholam Kipgen is a self-styled commander-in-chief of the other KNF, a non-SoO group which has nothing to do with the original KNF and it has no mandate of the people,” he further said.
The establishment of a militant outfit by Mangkholam Kipgen in the name of the KNF non-SoO group is nothing but to malign the good and reputed image of the original KNF, currently under talks with the governments, he added.
He further clarified that alleging the KNF of involvement in various anti-social activities despite being under SoO and tripartite with the governments is very unfortunate and misleading.
“Therefore, we have clarified to the public that Mangkholam Kipgen alias David is a self-styled commander-in-chief of the KNF non-SoO group and the anti-social activities he had carried out cannot be blamed to the original KNF who has nothing to do with him,” he added.
