Manipur logs 216 new COVID-19 positive cases, four deaths

Manipur has 2,614 COVID-19 active cases as of Thursday.

Manipur on Thursday recorded 216 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,17,913 while the death toll mounted to 1,821 with four more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 6.9 per cent. 

Of the four COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Thursday, two are from Imphal West and one each from Chandel and Kangpokpi and three were vaccinated with first dose, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 94 and 39 positive cases respectively. Twenty cases were reported each from Kangpokpi and Ukhrul, 11 from Thoubal, nine from Senapati, eight from Churachandpur, four from Chandel and Kamjong, three from Bishnupur, two from Kakching and one each from Pherzawl and Tamenglong.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 219 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,13,478. The recovery rate is 96.24 per cent, the release added.

Manipur has 2,614 COVID-19 active cases as of Thursday, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,192 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  411 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine had reached 16,12,138 (first dose: 12,10,874 and second dose: 4,01,264).

According to the release, there are 501 vacant general beds and 106 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 60 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 23 vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 43 vacant general beds and 32 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 76 vacant general beds and 22 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 176 vacant general beds and 22 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 50 general beds and six ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
