A food processing training cum distribution of appliances for differently-abled persons was organised by the Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) at Malsom Ability Resource Centre (MARC) at Pearsonmun, Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
During the programme, appliances including tricycle, motorised tricycle, wheelchair (adult and child) joystick wheelchair, crutch, hearing kits and others were distributed to the differently-abled persons.
The programme was held in collaboration with ALIMKO and the social welfare department based on the assessment camp held on February 27 to March 2, 2021. CCI organised the assessment camp in and around Lamka town at three locations where 176 people were assessed, of which 75 were selected.
Sources from CCI said that 14 of the beneficiaries were provided with the appliances by the state chief minister on September 6 at Peace Ground. The remaining 61 received the appliances on Wednesday distributed by CCI. The programme will continue till Thursday at MARC under the Malsawm Initiative run by CCI.
