A new primary health centre was inaugurated at Churachandpur's Zezaw village on Wednesday by Singngat MLA and MTDC chairman, Ginsuanhau Zou in the presence of Churachandpur DC, Pawan Yadav IAS, Singngat sub-division SDO, James Hansing, CMO Dr Vumchinpau.
The inaugural programme was also attended by nine village chiefs of the areas, including the village chief of Zezaw, TK Hang Suantak; MO in-charge of the new PHC, Dr Ginsism and his staff; and villagers.
During the programme, Ginsuanhau said that the PHC took 10 years to complete due to shortage of funds. He said that the project started in 2011 with funding from MDS but could not finish in time. However, it has been finally inaugurated and will be much helpful for Singngat CHC which will be upgraded to a sub-district hospital as assured by the chief minister.
He further said that his main objective is to provide proper health service, road connectivity, power supply and water to the people. He continued that BRTF will soon work on the road at Singngat 33/11 KV power plant at Suangdoh and Behiang for which an approval has already been received.
Pawan Yadav said that the proposed sub-district hospital at Singngat will be upgraded to 30 beds from the existing eight beds and assured to make it possible at the earliest after consultation with the MLA.
Stating that a PHC was already there at Zezaw village to treat patients, Dr Vumchinpau said that there is an urgent need of staff quarters and other basic facilities to upgrade it to sub-district hospital.
