Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandel in collaboration with district administration Tengnoupal organised ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav- Fit India Freedom Run 2.0’ on Saturday to spread the message of fitness and good health.
Tengnoupal deputy commissioner Praveen Singh flagged off the run from DC office to Gabby’s Café Tengnoupal, NYK Chandel stated in a release signed by its district youth officer Ng Rameson Monsang.
Along with Rameson Monsang, field response officer, National Helpline for Senior citizens Salim peter and former chennai city player Th Henry also took part at the Fit India Run to encourage the youths who are participating at the movement, it stated.
Praveen Singh stressed that youths should become more conscious of the fitness and health of their body as they should not be over influenced by the technological devices of today, it mentioned.
“We should maintain balance between the impacts of technology on our lives with proper fitness measures, so that we do not become a burden to the community and society. Our fitness will be a blessing to the wellbeing of our society,” it stated
Around 85 enthusiastic members including youths of affiliated youth clubs under NYK Chandel/Tengnoupal took part at the fit India Freedom Run simultaneously at their respective villages, it added.
