Manipur continued to witness a fall in daily COVID-19 death cases and positive cases as on Monday it recorded 223 new COVID-19 positive cases and two fatalities. With it, the state's COVID-19 confirmed tally reached 1,13,551 while the death toll mounted to 1,781, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 8.9 per cent currently.
Of the two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Monday, one death each was reported from Kakching and Ukhrul, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. It stated that of the two deaths, none were vaccinated.
Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases. However, the two districts also recorded a sudden drop below 100-mark at 70 and 45 cases respectively.
Fourteen new cases were reported from Bishnupur, 17 from Churachandpur, 34 from Kakching, 12 from Pherzawl, eight from Thoubal, 10 from Ukhrul, five from Chandel, three each from Noney and Senapati and one each from Kangpokpi and Tamenglong.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 268 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,08,430. The recovery rate stood at 95.49 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 3,340 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,199 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 314 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine had reached 15,19,826 (first dose: 11,85,319 and second dose: 3,34,507).
According to the release, there are 361 vacant general beds and 105 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 30 vacant general beds and 46 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 66 vacant general beds and 17 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 145 vacant general beds and 16 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 33 general beds and five ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
