The office of the deputy general manager: Imphal Electrical Division No III, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) stated that one of its staff was physically assaulted by miscreants, while on duty to restore power supply on Wednesday.
“Our line staff Irungbam Deepak Singh, serving under IED-III, MSPDCL, was physically abused and attacked by two unknown persons at Okram Chuthek at around 12 am on Wednesday while on duty to restore power supply for Khongjom feeder,” MSPDCL stated in a release issued by deputy general manager Imphal Electrical Division No III N Birjit.
The staff suffered facial injuries and other injuries on his body, MSPDCL stated. Such an act is highly immoral and the unfortunate incident is highly condemned, it stated.
MSPDCL appeals not to repeat such an act again with its staffs that are working day and night to provide 24x7 power supply, it stated.
An FIR has been registered at the Irilbung Police Station for further necessary action, it added.
