Manipur's daily COVID-19 positive tally drops to 275

Manipur recorded six more deaths due to COVID-19 on Monday.

Manipur on Monday recorded 275 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,08,545 while the death toll mounted to 1,716 with six more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 12.6 per cent. 

Of the six COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Monday, one death was reported from Imphal East, two from Bishnupur and three from Churachandpur, a release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room stated. Among the COVID-19 victims, four persons had co-morbidities and only one of them was vaccinated with the first dose, it stated.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 62 and 88 cases respectively. Thirty-nine from Bishnupur, 24 from Churachandpur, 15 from Kakching, 19 from Ukhrul, nine from Senapati, eight from Thoubal, five from Tamenglong, four from Kangpokpi and two from Chandel.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

The state also recorded 546 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,00,559. With it, the recovery rate is 92.64 per cent and the number of COVID-19 active cases in the state stands at 6,270 as of Monday. 

Meanwhile, a total of 1,447 D-type oxygen cylinders and  393 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 14,40,444 (first dose: 11,67,957 and second dose: 2,72,487).

The release further stated that there are 204  general beds and 58 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 15 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower (Contact No. 9311222947) there is zero vacant general beds and 10 ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 19 vacant general beds and zero ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 13 vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 10 vacant general beds and four ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 57 vacant general beds and 16 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 47 vacant general beds and 13 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 13 general beds and two ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
