Manipur's COVID-19 caseload crosses 108000-mark with 602 new positive cases

10 more COVID-19 deaths pushed the death toll to 1,710 in Manipur on Sunday.

Manipur on Sunday recorded 602 new COVID-19 positive cases, including six security personnel, pushing the state's tally to 1,08,270 while the death toll mounted to 1,710 with 10 more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 15.4 per cent. 

Of the ten COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday, two deaths each were reported from Imphal West and Kakching, and three each from Thoubal and Bishnupur, according to a release issued by the State COVID-19 Common Control Room on Sunday. It stated that of the 10 deaths, three persons had co-morbidities and two were vaccinated with the first dose. 

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 213 and 129 cases respectively. Seventy-seven are from Bishnupur, 34 from Churachandpur, 11 from Kakching, 10 from Kamjong, 34 from Pherzawl, 46 from Thoubal, 12 from Ukhrul, nine from Tamenglong, five from Noney,  two each from Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal and one from Senapati. 

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 573 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,00,013 as of Sunday. The recovery rate is 92.37 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 6,547 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Till date, a cumulative number of 11,57,640 COVID-19 test results have been recieved so far.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,511 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  465 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 14,40,122 (first dose: 11,67,750 and second dose: 2,72,372).

Vacant Beds in Nine hospitals

According to the release, there are 141 vacant general beds and 67 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur.

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are six vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower (Contact No. 9311222947) there are one vacant general beds and nine ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds and in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are seven vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 13 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are five vacant general beds and nine ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 55 vaccnt general beds and 16 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 19 vacant general beds and 12 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are five general beds and four ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
