As a part of the preventive measures taken up by Thoubal district police in connection with the Independence Day on August 15, a house-to-house search operation was conducted at Thoubal Mela Ground area on Saturday.

The search operation was carried out under the supervision of Thoubal SP, Jogeshchandra Haobijam. As per police sources, the operation started at 6 am and ended at 7:45 am.
It was conducted by a joint team of Thoubal Commando, Thoubal Police Station and Women Police Station. In the operation, around 40 houses were searched and 115 persons were verified including males and females. No person was picked up, the source added.
