Elephant helps medical team to pass through rain-damaged road in Tamenglong

The medical team along with Tamei sub divisional officer was on its way to remote Kadi village to give awareness on Covid vaccination.

In a rare sight, a medical team on COVID-19 vaccination duty took help from an elephant to pass through a muddy road in Tamenglong on Thursday.

This was witnessed when the medical team went out to far flung remote villages and give advocacy on mass Covid-19 vaccination. It is not the first time the medical teams have to tackle such difficulties and go through different hardships to save lives.

The medical team along with Tamei sub divisional officer was on its way to Kadi Range to give awareness on Covid vaccination on Thursday. 

However, the team could not proceed to Kadi village due to the dilapidated conditions of the road. The team finally took help from an elephant to pull out their vehicle that got stuck on the road.

Meanwhile, Tamenglong district on Saturday reported 11 new COVID-19 cases. There are 138 active cases while five patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

In the district, the total cumulative positive cases have surged to 2,802 while 2,652 cumulative positive patients have recovered.

As many as 11 COVID-19 positive patients are in the Covid isolation ward, district hospital Duigailong, Tamenglong.
