Earthquake of 4.0 magnitude jolts Manipur

According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 11:24 am.

An earthquake of 4.0 magnitude on Richter scale jolted Manipur near Ukhrul on Sunday morning. However, no reports of property damage or casualties have been reported so far.

According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 11:24 am. The depth of the quake was 60 km while the coordinates of the epicentre are 24.74 (latitude) and 94.40 (longitude), it said.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on 28-06-2020, 11:24:37 IST, Lat: 24.74 & Long: 94.40, Depth: 60 Km ,Location: 22km SSW of Ukhrul, Manipur," the National Centre for Seismology tweeted.

Meanwhile, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on Richter scale also hit Meghalaya's Tura on Sunday. The depth of the quake was 6 km while the coordinates of the epicentre are 25.81 (latitude) and 90.33 (longitude), the NCS said.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.9, Occurred on 28-06-2020, 12:24:59 IST, Lat: 25.81 & Long: 90.33, Depth: 6 Km ,Location: 35km NNE of Tura, Meghalaya," NCS tweeted on Sunday.

On June 22, an earthquake of 5.3 magnitude on Richter scale jolted Mizoram, causing damage to several houses and buildings, including a church at Zokhawthar in Khawbunga in Champhai district of the state.
