Manipur's COVID-19 caseload spirals to 91,460 as daily positive tally remains above 1000-mark

Manipur on Saturday reported 1,198 new positive cases and 14 more Covid-19 deaths.

Manipur’s COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 91,460 with 1,198 new positive cases reported, while 14 more deaths pushed total death toll to 1,465 as of Saturday, official sources said.

The total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 10,251 on Saturday, a release from the Covid-19 common control room stated.

As many as eight people succumbed to Covid-19 in Imphal West, while Bishnupur reported three deaths, Churachandpur two and Imphal East one, according to the state level Covid-19 deaths audit committee. It stated that out of the 14 victims, four were vaccinated with the first dose.

Of the 7,068 Covid-19 test results received on Saturday, 301 positive results are from Imphal West, 292 from Imphal East, 193 from Thoubal, 134 from Churachandpur, 88 from Bishnupur, 39 from Chandel, 52 from Kakching, six from Jiribam, threee from Kamjong, 25 from Kangpokpi, nine from Noney, two from Pherzawl, 27 from Senapati, 18 from Tamenglong, six from Tengnoupal and three from Ukhrul. One is personnel of the Central Armed Police Force.

The total number of recoveries reached 79,744 as 872 more patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate stood at 87.19 per cent as of Saturday.

The total number of Covid-19 vaccine dose administered under the nationwide vaccine drive reached 11,64,069.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,677 D-type oxygen cylinders and 368 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours.
