Ashwini Kumar Choubey takes charge as MoS Environment, Forest and Climate Change

Increasing the forest cover would be a priority area, the new MoS, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Monday assumed charge as Minister of State of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in New Delhi and said that increasing the forest cover would be a priority area.

Before assuming charge, he planted a tree sapling at the premises of the Environment Ministry.

As he took charge, Choubey was welcomed by secretary, Ministry of Environment, RP Gupta and other senior officials of the Ministry.

In the last seven years the Environment Ministry has done many unprecedented works, Choubey said, adding that he will further the works. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving the responsibility to him.

Choubey was Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and a member of the 17th Lok Sabha.
