Deputy commissioners of Imphal East and Imphal West have instructed the superintendents of police(SP) of the two districts for strict enforcement of containment zones and micro containment in areas or localities under the districts with maximum COVID positive cases.
The areas or localities under Imphal East includes Kongba Kshetri Leikai having 21 positive cases, Khurai Kongpal Ningthoubung (19 cases), Kairang (17 cases), Kongpal Ningthoubung (16 cases), Kongpal Khaidem Leikai (15 cases), Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai (15 cases), Luwangsangbam Mamang Leikai (14 cases), Tellou (14 cases), Bamon leikai (12 cases) and Waiton with nine cases.
The said areas will be under containment zones till 15 July. The areas under Imphal West includes Meitram Awang Leikai with 71 positive cases, Moidangpok Aheibam leikai (25 cases), Sagolband Nepra Menjor (11), Sekmai Awang leikai (12 cases), Sekmaijin Thongam (26 cases), Tera Tongbram Leikai (18 cases), Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai (15 cases) Lamboikhongnangkhong (17 cases), Langthabal Kunje (13 cases), Uripok Polem Leikai (13 cases) and Yumdam Huidrom with 16 cases. The areas will remain under containment zones Jill July 14.
The SPs have been instructed to send a dedicated police team at least twice a day at the containment zones to ensure the enforcement of containment zones.
They are also asked to coordinate with local clubs and civil voluntary organisations in the areas to identify containment zones as well as for strict enforcement.
