The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) has also decided to cancel the exams for now. However, ICSE said that the decision on conducting class 12 board examination in the future will be taken later.

Consequent upon a group of parents moving the SC for cancellation of the remaining exams, the apex court had last week directed the CBSE to consider scrapping the board exams for class 10 and 12.

While the board exam for class 10 will not be conducted, it is said that the class 12 students will be given the option to appear the exam when conditions are conducive or to be assessed on the basis of their performances in past three examinations.

The detailed arrangement of the second option will be notified latest by Friday.

In the plea of the parents, they also suggested the board to allot marks on the basis of internal assessment and past performances.
