World Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed in Manipur

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal East under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) observed  ‘World Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ cum awareness programme on ‘Implementation of NASLSA (Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace) Scheme 2015’ on Saturday.

The occasion was observed via JITSI Meet application on at 1.00 pm with the PLVs of Nirvana Foundation, other Legal Aid Clinic and Member of Meitei Leimarol Sinnai Sang (MLSS), NGO,  DLSA, Imphal East, stated a release issued by its secretary in-charge N Lanleima.

The programme was attended by District and Sessions Judge, Imphal East cum chairman, DLSA, Imphal East RK Memcha and Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East cum secretary, DLSA, Imphal East N Lanleima, it stated.

RK Memcha spoke as a resource person on the topic ‘Implementation of NASLSA (Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace) Scheme 2015, it stated.

An interaction session was also held between the chairman, District Legal Services Authority Imphal East, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Imphal East, Resource persons and participants, it added. 

The occasion was also observed by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Senapati under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLA) in association with Shanti Ghar, Treatment cum Rehabilitation Centre, Mayangkhang, Kangpokpi district.

Licensed clinical psychologist Share and Care, Imphal Miranda Yendrembam stressed on the topic ‘Impact of COVID-19 on mental health and substance use’, stated a release issued by secretary, DLSA, Senapati A Tarunakumari Devi. 

An interaction with the participants was made as a part of the programme, it stated.  Chairman, DLSA, Senapati SamomIbjen;  secretary DLSA, Senapati A Tarunakumari Devi;  retainer lawyer, front office S Marysena; panel lawyers, PLVs of DLSA, Senapati and inmates of Shanti Ghar, Treatment cum Rehabilitation Centre, Mayangkhang, Kangpokpi district took part in the occasion, it added.
