Airport Authority of India gifts ambulance to YVA

As per a report from Young Vaiphei Association, they have managed to transport 32 bodies from hospitals in Imphal to villages in the hill areas of Manipur in 2020 and also extended help in the burial of 11 people who died from COVID-19.

Airport Authority of India, (AAI) Imphal International Airport under its corporate social responsibilities (CSR) gifted an ambulance to the Young Vaiphei Association, (YVA) Joint Headquarters Imphal on Wednesday.

A small function was held at Imphal International Airport in the presence of additional chief secretary of Manipur P Vaiphei, airport director, AAI Imphal International Airport P Lokanandh, CSR  coordinator (deputy general manager, electrical) A Nariappan,  joint general manager Communication, Navigation and Surveillance S Mariapan and executives of YVA.

P Lokanandh handed over the keys of the ambulance to the president of YVA James Henneimang Vaiphei.

Lauding the good act of the AAI, James said the gift from the AAI came at a very special moment when the YVA celebrated 25 years of its existence in giving help to the distress.

James said, YVA, a philanthropic association was formed in 1985 and it has been providing free service in carrying bodies from the state capital to almost every nook and corner of the state irrespective of communities and tribes.
