As a part of the three-day long programme in connection with COVID-19, an awareness programme on COVID-19 and Black Fungus was jointly organised by Keishamthong AC COVID Task Force and Directorate of Health Services, Manipur on Saturday at the community hall of Keishampat Keisham Leikai, Imphal West.
The programme was initiated by MCYC COVID Task Force maintaining strict COVID-19 SOPs and it also deliberated the preparations that should be taken post vaccination.
MLA of Keishamthong assembly constituency, Langpoklakpam Jayentakumar was the chief guest of the programme. The resource persons were deputy director of Directorate of Health Services and state nodal officer of IEC team, Dr RK Rosy and senior medical officer of School Health Medical Directorate and in-charge of Community Engagement COVID Care, Dr Jubilee Wahengbam.
Jayentakumar said that during this crucial time of COVID-19, people should help each other irrespective of every caste, creed and religion. People should be ready to come forward and serve the society. Moreover, there is no room for politics during these critical days of pandemic, he added.
Appreciating the local MLA, convenor of MCYC COVID Task Force, Thounaojam Anil said that more of such programmes should be conducted in other localities so that people have better awareness of COVID-19 and other related issues and complications.
Earlier on June 10 and June 11, mass COVID-19 vaccination programme was organised by MCYC COVID Task Force, Keisham Keisam Leikai under National Health Mission and aided by MLA, Langpoklakpam Jayentakumar. Altogether, 190 people were vaccinated in the mass vaccination programme that mostly included people above 45 years of age and members of MCYC COVID Task Force.
