KNF extends helping hands to government

The organisation handed over several trucks load of firewood few days ago to the authority concerned for use at the centralized kitchen.

The mother organisation of the Kuki militant outfits, KNF, a SoO signatory and an entity of the Tripartite talks with the governments extended helping hands to the government officials and civil bodies manning the institutional quarantine centres in Kangpokpi district.

According to KSO Sadar Hills, the general secretary of KNF, Aaron Kipgen, who is also the convener of the United People's Front (UPF), the organisation handed over several trucks load of firewood few days ago to the authority concerned for use at the centralized kitchen where catering for inmates of institutional quarantine centres has been taken up in the district.

On May 18 during its Raising Day ceremony, the Kuki National Front (KNF) leaders decided to extend all possible help to the government, District Administration and frontline workers during the pandemic COVID-19.

 KSO Sadar Hills president Thangminlen Kipgen said that the truckloads of firewood were handed over to them for distribution. They were accordingly handed over to Kangpokpi Christian Church (KCC), the centralized kitchen for various institutional quarantine centres within Kangpokpi district headquarters and its surrounding areas.  Another truck load of firewood was also handed over to SDO Saitu and Baptist English High School, Motbung, the centralized kitchen for institutional quarantine centres within Motbung areas.

While appreciating and extending gratitude to the organisation for their humanitarian service amid the pandemic COVID-19, the student body also exhorted collective contribution towards containing the deadly pandemic COVID-19 in the district.

Meanwhile, KSO Sadar Hills also provided two bags of rice and other essential items to the Village Authority of Tumnoupokpi through Meiduipa S, President, Thangal Students' Union as a helping hands towards the people of Tumnoupokpi in catering the inmates of institutional quarantine centre in the village purely on voluntary service.
