A joint statement from Rongmei Naga People’s Organisation (Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland), Rongmei Naga Council Manipur, Rongmei Naga Luh Phuam Manipur (Women Wing), and Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation stated the gunfight between the two factions of ZUF was uncalled for since killing one’s own brother can never be considered an act of bravery especially when it is done for an unworthy cause.

It further stated that such an act of confrontation is a clear indication of defying people’s admonitions, and hence condemnable and is not acceptable by the people.

“We would like to keep on record that the Rongmei people are peace-loving people and will never tolerate bloodshed in our jurisdiction. And the Rongmei people shall boycott whoever violates the stand of the people had already been made loud and clear,” it added.
