CMHT, PMJAY to cover COVID-19 hospitalisation expenses

The CMHT and PMJAY beneficiaries who are in need of COVID-19 related treatments in the state will receive treatment at any empanelled hospital free of cost.

The Manipur government on Sunday announced that hospitalisation expenses of all COVID-19 patients holding Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards will be covered under the two schemes.

The CMHT and PMJAY beneficiaries who are in need of COVID-19 related treatments in the state will receive treatment at any empanelled hospital free of cost.

The beneficiaries can contact the dedicated toll free number 1800-103-2015 for any issues, complaints and queries related to the schemes.

"Sunday Happy to share that, for all the covid patients holding CMHT and PMJAY cards, the expenses for their hospitalization in empaneled hospitals will now be covered under CMHT and PMJAY, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said in a Facebook post.

On Saturday, the state government also announced that all charges for disposal and cremation of the dead bodies due to COVID-19 as per relevant extent provisions will be borne by the district administration with immediate effect.

CM Biren had said that the decision was taken considering the trauma and financial burden faced by the families due to death of their loved ones in the pandemic.
