Civil bodies in Chandel district has imposed lockdown in the entire Greater Chandel area from Wednesday afternoon.
The announcement was made after a joint meeting of CSOs of Chandel consisting of CNPO, NSUC, NWUC, NCAC, MACA and Japhou Bazar Authority conducted in view of COVID-19 positive spike in the district headquarter and Greater Chandel area, stated a release issued by the joint CSOs.
It stated that the lockdown will not be restricted for goods carrier vehicles, including medical oxygen, all essential service establishments like pharmacies, Public Health Engineering, Fire Service and others.
All government and banks employees attending offices, clinics, hospitals, power supply and all government officials who have been assigned specific duties of Covid-19 management or other emergency services will also be allowed to move freely, the release added.
