RNSOM reiterates appeal to government to address problem of insufficient doctors in Tamenglong

Concerned over the diminishing number of doctors in Tamenglong district, the Rongmei Naga Students Organisation Manipur appealed to the state government for making necessary arrangements of doctors in the district in public interest.

Raising serious concerns over the diminishing number of doctors in Tamenglong district, the Rongmei Naga Students Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) has drawn the attention of the government to address the concerning issue amid the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Expressing dissapointment, RNSOM stated in a release that its continuous appeal for posting of adequate numbers of doctors in the district hospital and community health centres during this challenging time has gone unheard.

RNSOM appealed to the state government in the release signed by RNSOM general secretary Jeanthui Panmei to ensure adequate number of doctors to be posted in the district in the public interest.

RNSOM also appealed to all district level officers, block level officers especially medical officers and staff posted at the district hospital, Community Health Centre and Primary Health Centres of Tamenglong and Noney districts to make themselves available at their respective place of posting for immediate response to any call of duty to support the leadership of the chief minister towards confronting the threat of COVID-19.

Expressing satisfaction with the government’s all round preparedness to deal with the second wave of the COVID-19 in the state, the RNSOM added that the daily update of the readiness to confront and defeat COVID-19 in the state by the chief minister through social media exhibits his utmost priority and care for the general public.

It also assured to continue extending the government all the best possible help in fighting the threat.

RNSOM also congratulated D Gangmei for his new responsibility as deputy commissioner of Kakching district and expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Dr Chambo Gonmei for his "unmatchable contributions" as chief medical officer Tamenglong for more than a decade towards the well being of people.

Welcoming Dr G Majachungliu, as the new CMO (i/c) of Tamenglong, the release added that RNSOM anticipates the incumbent CMO to come up with new strategies, bring more waves of change and development in the health sector at this crucial and challenging phase of the global pandemic.

Further, RNSOM also appealed to the general public to cooperate and comply with all guidelines of the state government.
