During the inspection, the deputy commissioner expressed concern that unless the oxygen plant is made functional within 10 to 15 days, there will be a major problem as COVID-19 positive cases are increasing consistently in the district. The construction of the oxygen plant was approved in December last year, however could not be implemented due to delay in fund allocation. The oxygen plant is expected to generate 200 litre of oxygen per minute, he added.

Meanwhile, IDPS Churachandpur reported that 42 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded with one death on Wednesday. The district now has 186 COVID-19 active cases. So far 51 COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in Churachandpur since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
