As the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic continued to hit hard Manipur, Churachandpur district on Monday recorded its highest single-day spike of 30 COVID-19 positive cases, including 19 males and 11 females, according to the district surveillance officer (DSO).
As per the latest update by district surveillance officer, IDPS Churachandpur Dr Ngahneikim Haokip, Churachandpur has 124 COVID-19 active cases currently, of which 85 are males and 39 are females, while the death toll has reached 50.
Meanwhile, sources from Churachandpur police said that as many as 235 COVID-19 SOPs violators have been apprehended and a sum of Rs 1,23,000 as fine from them. Fifty per cent of the fines collected have been deposited in the account of the road safety fund to mark the Road Safety Day on Tuesday, the sources added.
