Seized liquor destroyed at Kakching

The liquors were seized from different parts of Kakching district during the drives being held under the supervision of SP Victoria Yengkhom against drugs and other intoxicants.

Distilled Illicit Country (DIC) liquor and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), amounting to a sum of Rs 1,78,800 were on Saturday destroyed by Kakching District Police at the office complex of SDPO Sugunu.

According to police sources, the liquors were seized from different parts of Kakching district during the drives being held under the supervision of SP Victoria Yengkhom against drugs and other intoxicants.

The destroyed liquors include IMFL 31 litres, Beer 5 litres,and DIC 1500 litres. They were seized mainly by Waikhong police station, Aarong police station, Wangoo police station and Sugunu police station.

The source also added that the seized liquors were destroyed under section 68 and 69 of Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act 1991 in front of SDPO Sugunu Rameshwor Sharma under the directives of superintendent of Excise, government of Manipur Chinlian Vaiphei.

Excise Station Sugunu OC Th Manoraja, Wangoo police station OC Tongbram Meino and Sugunu police station OC Ch Sarjan also took part at the event.
