48 more areas declared containment zones in Imphal

Areas under containment zones in Imphal East included Kongpal Kongkham Leikai; Huikap Mayai Leikai; Khergao Makha Leikai; Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai; Naharup; Nongpok Sanjenbam Khunou; Khurai Thangjam Leikai and Sadu Koireng among others.

A total of 48 areas in Imphal city were declared containment zones as a measure to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and in view of the recent surge in the positive cases in the state.

Areas under containment zones in Imphal East included Kongpal Kongkham Leikai; Huikap Mayai Leikai; Khergao Makha Leikai; Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai; Naharup; Nongpok Sanjenbam Khunou; Khurai Thangjam Leikai; Sadu Koireng; Wangkhei Konsam Leikai; Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai; Chingmeirong East; Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai; Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai; Chingkhu Maning; Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai along with two areas at top Khongnang Makhong as per the orders issued by the deputy commissioner of Imphal East district, Shamim Ahmad Shah on Tuesday.

Containment zones were also declared in certain areas at Kanglatongbi; Dharamsala- Room No 10; Awang Sekmai Bazaar; Heirangoithong Bazaar Aheibam Leirak; Heirangoithong Ningthoujam Leikai; Keishampat Kangabam Leikai; Keishamthong Moirang Ningthou Leirak; Kwakeithel Namdong Leikai; Lairenjam Sabal; Lalambung Nityanada Maning; Major Khul Gate; Mayang Imphal Thana Maning Khunou; Nagamapal Chungkham Leirak; Malom Tuliyaima Awang Leikai; Nagamapal Phougeishangbam Leikai; Naoremthong Khullem Leikai; Naoremthong Khumanthem Leikai; Sagolband Moirang Leirak; Sagolband Sayang Pukhri Mapal; NIA Office Complex, Lamphel; Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai; Singjamei Makha Maisnam Leikai; Singjamei Top Leikai; Thangmeiband Polem Leikai; Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai; Thangmeiband Watham Leirak; Uripok Achom Leikai and Uripok Sorbon Thingel Leikai along with three areas at Thangal Bazaar, as per the orders issued by the deputy commissioner, Imphal West Naorem Praveen Singh on Monday.
