Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma takes COVID-19 vaccine second dose

Conrad Sangma took the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the Civil Hospital in Shillong on March 12.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday was administered the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Soksanang LP School, Lower Balsanang, in Tura.

Sangma appealed to all eligible people to get themselves vaccinated.

"Took my second dose of the #CovidVaccine at Soksanang LP School, Lower Balsanang, #Tura which is one of the Session Sites. Tura is almost completed with its Phase II vaccination drive. I appeal to those eligible to take their vaccine shot in centers near them," Sangma tweeted.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya surged to 15,994 as 208 more people tested positive for the viral infection on Sunday, according to the state health department. With two more COVID-19 fatalities, the state's death toll also rose to 160 on Sunday. As per the state health department Meghalaya now has 1,388 COVID-19 active cases while 14,446 people have recovered from COVID-19.
