A house to house search operation was carried out at Khongjom Laibung Leikai area on Tuesday as part of the security measures to prevent any untoward incident in connection with the upcoming Khongjom Day celebration.
The operation was conducted by a combined team of Thoubal District Police led by officer in-charge of Khongjom PS, inspector K Santosh, subedar Y Sanjit and other team of Thoubal police and Khongjom PS including women police personnel.
As per police source, around 60 houses were searched and 180 persons, including male and female were verified. During the search, no person was detained or arrested. The search operation started at around 5 am and ended at 6:20 am.
Similar house to house search operation was conducted at Khebaching Shivanagar area and around 50 houses were searched and 150 persons both male and female were verified. No person was detained or arrested during the search operation.
