17 more areas in Imphal West declared containment zones

The containment zones included areas at Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leirak; Kanto Prem Nagar; Lalambung Khoirom Leikai; and Kwakeithel Nganapi Thong among others.

Amid the ever-increasing numbers of COVID-19 positive cases in areas of Imphal West and as a measure to prevent the spread of the disease, DC Imphal West district Naorem Praveen Singh on Monday declared 17 areas in the district as containment zones.

The containment zones included areas at Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leirak; Kanto Prem Nagar; Lalambung Khoirom Leikai; Kwakeithel Nganapi Thong, Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai; Lalambung Pung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai; Lamphel SuperMarket; Nagamapal Soram Leirak; Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak; Sagolband Salam Leikai;  Takyel Kolom Leikai; Tera Bazaar, Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai; Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai; Uripok Achom Leikai, and Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai, stated the orders by the deputy commissioner, Imphal West.

The boundaries of the containment zone at Kwakeithel Nganapi Thong are the residential plot of Potsangbam Manikanta in the north, IVR in the south, residential plot of late Mayengbam Ibotombi in the East and residential plot of Oinam Joy in the west, it stated.

While the boundaries for the containment zone at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai are residential plot of Sinam Shantikumar in the North, Ingkhol Lambi in the South, Ingkhol Lambi in the East and residential plot of Sinam Biren in the West. And the boundaries for the containment zone at Uripok Achom Leikai are the Leirak in the north, residential plots of Tonabam Brojen and Sougaijam Manikanta in the south, residential plot of Soubam Ibemhal Devi in the East, and residential plot of Naosekpam Geetchandra in the West, it mentioned.

The order also stated that the plots or roads mentioned are indications of the boundaries and in no case included within the containment zones.
