Former PM Manmohan Singh tests COVID-19 positive, admitted to AIIMS

The veteran Congress leader has been admitted to the trauma centre of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Delhi.

Former prime minister and veteran Congress leader Manmohan Singh has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to the trauma centre of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Delhi, according to reports.

Several leaders took to Twitter to wish the veteran Congress leader a speedy recovery.

"Dear Dr Manmohan Singhji, Wishing you a speedy recovery. India needs your guidance and advice in this difficult time," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

"My prayers are with Manmohan Singh ji and his family today, and my deepest respect. May he fight this scourge with all his might and get well soon," Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on Twitter.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari tweeted, "I pray for your speedy recovery Manmohan Singh ji."

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also tweeted, "Just got the news that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji has tested positive for COVID. Sir, our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery."

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also wished the former PM a speedy recovery.

"I wish the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji good health and early recovery. (translated from Hindi)" Kejriwal tweeted.

"Wishing a speedy recovery to Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh who tested positive for COVID," Sisodia also wrote on Twitter.
