earsonmun village celebrated its platinum jubilee on Wednesday with the theme ‘Thus Far God Has Led Us’ and the jubilee stone was unveiled by Pastor Suanmung Guite in the presence of village chief T Thanchhung and villagers.
The village is one of the oldest villages of Churachandpur with 460 households and it was declared as model village by RBI.
The celebration was planned for four sessions, however it had to be shortened by only one session due to the death of one villager. During the occasion, a traditional gong was beaten 75 times by the dignitaries and villagers. Later, the village chief made a speech about the village which was established by his father (Late) Zamdal Tonsing in 1946.
The occasion was attended by the principal secretary, Vunglunmang Vualnam, who is a resident of the village and other church leaders. It ended with a traditional grand feast organised by the village authority.
