Nagaland: Five more test COVID-19 positive; total cases rise to 198

Of the five new cases, two cases each were reported from Mon quarantine centre and Kohima quarantine centre, respectively. The other case was reported from Dimapur quarantine centre.

Nagaland on Friday reported five new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 198, state Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said.

Taking to Twitter, the minister said that of the five new cases, two cases each are reported from Mon quarantine centre and Kohima quarantine centre, respectively. The other case is reported from Dimapur quarantine centre, he said.

"Out of 320 samples tested, 5 new cases of COVID-19 +ve have been reported. 2 patients each from Mon QC & Kohima QC respectively & 1 from Dimapur QC," the health minister tweeted.

As per the update by the minister, the number of recovered cases have surpassed the number of active cases in the state. Of the total 198 cases, 109 patients have recovered from the infection while the number of active cases stood at 89, the health minister said.

No new COVID-19 case was reported in the state on Thursday.
