The Manipur Fencing Association (MFA) accorded a warm reception to its fencers who had claimed medals in various national championships in 2021 at Fencing Hall, Khuman Lampak on Sunday.
Manipur fencers grabbed a total of 21 medals, including five gold medals from three national fencing championships held in the early part of 2021.
In the 22nd Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship held at Cuttack from March 24-26, Manipur fencers bagged two gold, six silver and two bronze medals while from the 28th Junior National Championship held at Rudrapur, Uttarkhand from March 15-17, fencers collected two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
State fencers also made a haul of one gold, one silver and four bronze medals from 31st Senior National Fencing Championship held at Rudrapur, Uttarkhand from March 19-21.
The reception function of the fencers was attended by general secretary of Manipur Olympic Association (MOA), Sunil Elangbam and president of MFA, M Lokendra Singh among others.
