Indian Medical Association (IMA), State Branch has strongly condemned the recent incident of damage of property at the premises of Community Health Centre of Wangoi and Ragini Charitable Hospital following the death of a lady during childbirth.

A release stated that the health center was unable to admit the patient as the health center had been recently converted to a COVID-19 centre. The association draws attention of the authority concerned that perpetrators be booked under the Manipur Medicare Service Personal and Medicare Service Institution (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act 2015 and the Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020, it said. However, the association regrets the demise of the lady during childbirth, it stated.
