Two flight passengers among nine new positive cases in Manipur

A total of 78 flight passengers were tested for COVID-19 at the Imphal Airport on Sunday.

Manipur on Sunday recorded nine new COVID-19 positive cases, including two flight passengers, the state health department said.

A total of 78 flight passengers were tested for COVID-19 at the Imphal Airport on Sunday, of which two passengers tested positive, the state health department said.

Air passengers who travelled to Manipur on March 27 by Indigo flight 6E-2019 seated in rows 9-14, 22-28 and by Air Asia flight 15, seated in rows 12-18 are informed to call COVID-19 Common Control Room at 1800343818 or respective district surveillance officers (DSO). 

The new positive cases on Sunday included two each from Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal, and one case each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur, and Senapati, it added.

With the new positive case, the state's COVID-19 caseload surged to 29,385, including 28,948 recovered cases and 374 deaths, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

The number of COVID-19 active cases also mounted to 63 on Sunday, the release stated, while adding that the state's recovery rate is 98.51 per cent.

Meanwhile, 611 more people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in the state. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Manipur is 85,714, including 31,592 healthcare workers, the released added.
