Three Myanmar nationals brought to Imphal with bullet wounds

Unconfirmed reports are doing the round that the three Myanmar nationals got injured after junta forces opened fire at Tamu market around 11pm on Thursday.

Three Myanmarese citizens suspected to be anti-coup protesters were brought to Imphal for treatment of bullet injuries.

The injured were initially brought to sub-divisional Hospital Moreh late Thursday night and referred to Imphal for further treatment on Friday morning.

As per sources, the injured persons arrived late at night at the sub-divisional hospital where they were provided first aid.

The injured persons have been identified as one Phuyoo alias Phuzo, 32, son of Miyantian; Nyae Yoon alias Konanoo, 29, son of Weayyoon and Nay Nay Thoo alias Nyu Nyu Thun, 31, son of Myinninth. It is said that the injured persons were all from Tamu district. They reached Imphal at about 10.30 am.

Naye Yoon was admitted at RIMS hospital, Lamphel; Phuyoo and Nay Nay Thoo were admitted at JINMS hospital, Porompat.

As per medical report Moreh hospital, Phuyoo received bullet injury at abdomen; Nyae Yoon received bullet injury at his right chest, right knee and his head was also injured, while Nay Nay Thoo received bullet injury in the ride side of his buttock. They were referred to the hospital from Tamu hospital.

Hospital authorities said that Phuyoo received bullet injury in his abdomen and is in a critical condition and doctors have advised for operation.

While it remains unclear how the trio crossed over into Manipur, authority concerned cannot be reached to comment on the incident.

Unconfirmed sources said the injured were brought with assistance from civil bodies after acquiring permission from the authority.

Former member ADC Chandel Cecilia Chinneivah Haokip, additional SP M Amit and civil body leaders of Moreh town visited the injured persons at Moreh hospital Friday morning before they were transported to Imphal.

The incident site (Tamu town) is located near Indian border in Tengnoupal district in Manipur. Tamu is located at a distance less than 5km from Moreh.

The pro-democracy protesters took out a rally against the military-coup on Thursday, March 25, the reports said.
