COVID-19 active cases in Manipur surges to 60

Six more persons tested COVID-19 positive in Manipur on Friday.

Six more COVID-19 positive cases pushed Manipur active caseload to 60 and the total tally to 29,373, the state health department said on Friday.

The new positive cases are from the general population, including two each from Imphal East and Thoubal, and one case each from Kakching and Tengnoupal, according to a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

With no report of COVID-19 death case on Friday, the death toll remained at 374 while the cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 28,939 with three new recoveries. The state's recovery rate is 98.52 per cent, the release stated.

Meanwhile, 486 more persons have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in the state is 84,235, including 31,457 healthcare workers, the release added.

The state health department further said no severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation.
