A combined team of commando, Thoubal and Lilong Police Station arrested two women drug sellers from their residences on February 23.
According police source, the arrested women have been identified as Khursida Begum, 28, wife of Md Shurjad of Lilong Ushoipokpi Tharaorok and Sumabi, 26, wife of Md Ziaul Haque of Lilong Ushoipokpi Tharaorok. The seized items from their possession are 78.6 gram of heroin, 1258 nos. of Spasmo Proxivon (SP) capsules, 20 nos. of Codeine cough Syrup bottles and a sum of Rs 36,150. A case has been registered at Lilong Police Station for further investigation, the source added.
It further said that on February 24, a team of commando, Thoubal arrested one active member of banned outfit UNLF from Yairipok Lamkhai near Auto parking. The arrested person has been identified as self-styled sergeant, Army No. 1834, Khwairakpam Bijay Meitei alias Chingshuba, 32, son of (Late) Kh Gujiadhon Meitei of Moreh Ward No.7, at present Langol Ningthou, Imphal East district. The UG member has been handed over to Thoubal Police Station for further legal action and a case has been registered at the police station.
