Three drug peddlers, including two women, were arrested by a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) in Imphal, Manipur on Saturday.
The NAB team recovered Heroine and cash amount of Rs 4 lakh from the possession of the arrested,Superintendent of Police, NAB, W Basu told media person at a press conference in Imphal.
The peddlers have been identified as Chaili Newme, 47, daughter of Samuite U Newme of Magulong Tamenglong district, Felina Neinunnem, 28, daughter of Demkhokai of DHQ Tuibong, Churachandpur district and Ngamkhomang Haokip, 30, son of Janggin Haokip of S Muoldung Village, Churachandpur, the SP added.
Basu said Chaili was arrested on Saturday at about 5.30 pm from Mantripukhri along with 35 caps approximately to 450 gram of heroine powder. Later, on her revelation, Felina who delivered the said drugs to Chaili was arrested along with Ngamkhomang from Mantripukhri near ‘Pukhri Achouba’ in Imphal at about 7.30 pm of the same day.
The NAB team seized a sum of Rs 4 lakh from the possession of Felina and one ‘Bolero’ car bearing registration number MN-02C/0023 driven by Ngamkhomang.
A case has been registered at NAB police station, Imphal, Basu added.
